Verses:

Psalm 98:1-4
John 1:19-28
1 John 2:22-28
22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies
that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father
and the Son. 23 No one who denies the
Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
24 As for you, see that what you have heard
from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son
and in the Father. 25 And this is what
he promised us—eternal life.
26 I am writing these things to you about
those who are trying to lead you astray. 27 As
for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need
anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as
that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in
him.
God’s Children and Sin
28 And now, dear children, continue in him,
so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his
coming.
Psalm 98:1-4
1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy
to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
burst into jubilant song with music;
John 1:19-28
John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the
Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to
ask him who he was. 20 He did not fail
to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are
you Elijah?”
He said, “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?”
He answered, “No.”
22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us
an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the
prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the
way for the Lord.’”
24 Now the Pharisees who had been sent
25 questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if
you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26 “I baptize with water,” John replied,
“but among you stands one you do not know. 27 He
is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to
untie.”
28 This all happened at Bethany on the
other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
